Dr. Marina Proudfoot has been a licensed chiropractor in MInnesota since 1983. She is a graduate of Northwestern College of Chiropractic (Northwestern Health Science University). Her education also includes post-graduate intensive studies in neurology and mechanical therapies.

She has helped individuals of every age — from infants to elders — and from nearly every walk of life with injuries, pain relief, and wellness. Her patients have included athletes, homemakers, office workers, students, artists, chefs, musicians, and physical laborers.

With a hands-on, individualized approach, Dr. Proudfoot seeks first to understand the true source of a person’s symptoms, using the interview conversation as a starting point. The exam then discerns what symptoms might be resolved with mechanical therapies. If the problem requires further investigation, a patient may be referred for X-rays or other advanced imaging.

Depending on the situation, treatment modes can include mechanical therapies such as muscle work, trigger points, joint manipulation and mobilization, heat and cold, and ultrasound. Dr. Proudfoot has found that patients often benefit greatly from focusing on joint health, function, and alignment, helping to improve symptoms that might be experienced or perceived as muscle pain, spasms, or stiffness.

Dr. Proudfoot also emphasizes self-care — including exercise and posture modification — as a key element in working with mechanical problems. She enjoys working with people on wellness and maintaining their bodies. And, as needed, she refers patients to practitioners of other modalities such as acupuncture, massage therapy, shiatsu, physical therapy, neurology, and orthopedics.

Dr. Proudfoot is available for sessions on Wednesdays at Flourish.
