Before completing a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine, Melinda spent 17 years as a professional chef in the Twin Cities encouraging the consumption of organic, healthful food. She was co-owner of the critically acclaimed Auriga restaurant for 10 years before leaving to raise a family and pursue her lifelong interest in Chinese medicine. She has the gift of seeing how all dimensions of being come together.

As an acupuncturist, I use traditional methods, herbal medicine, and supporting therapies to address both the physical aspects of our person and our vital life force, or Qi. In acupuncture, needles follow the meridians to help move energy and heal all parts of the body. The needles used in acupuncture manipulate Qi. Melinda has the ability to use energy medicine to continue manipulating Qi, harmonizing and tonifying the physical body as well as the the energy body. I always follow up with an explanation of my work and give feedback.

Melinda’s experience with food, farming and being a catalyst for healthful change in others has left her with a deep understanding of complex systems; systems of food, the body and the earth. Traditional Chinese Medicine, as a pattern medicine, analyzes the whole body with the intention of bringing the body's systems into balance. Acupuncture, herbal medicine, and supporting therapies address both the physical aspects of our person and our vital life force, or Qi.
